BIOGRAPHY

HOW IT STARTED...

Destiny Carter is an accomplished fine and graphic artist whose creative journey began in the Mojave desert of Southern California where she was raised by her grandparents. Her grandfather was a modern-day Renaissance man: a fine artist, graphic artist, engineer, inventor, and retired designer, where he helped visualize and innovate for numerous automotive and aerospace corporations. Creative exploration and imaginative design was an actively developed skill. As a young girl, she was more often encouraged by her grandfather to develop her artistic abilities rather than take time to complete her schoolwork, to the notable displeasure of her grandmother.

HOW IT'S GOING...

Because of her inherent love of creativity, Destiny is very comfortable creating various types of artwork including ink, pencil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, and professional graphic design. She will happily create a custom piece for you in any medium you desire.

Destiny's wearable art creations have been featured numerous times in Altered Couture Magazine. Three pairs of her wearable art shoes were accepted in the international, juried art show, Beckstrand and Norris Galleries' Wearable Expressions 2008 exhibition, at the Palos Verdes Art Center. She was invited to submit pieces to Art 2 Wear Accoutrements which was displayed at the LAX/Ontario International Airport in 2009. Destiny's work has been included in numerous local exhibits and art shows around San Luis Obispo County, as well as private collections.
